If you’re looking for a fun and easy art project to add some character to a blank wall in your home, try this one. All you need is a blank canvas, some paint (at least 2 colors), brushes, rollers or spray, a interesting shaped object (or simple like a circle or square) with outlined edges, and a paper plate.
- Paint canvas your background color, rolling or spraying will give a cleaner finish versus using a small art brush – but use what you have!
- Pour secondary paint color into paper tray – take object of choice and dip into paint, then take object and make prints on canvas, when paint on object runs out repeat process.
- Tip – practice on paper first before dabbing to get a feel of how the paint print will look as well as how long it will last.
Objects can be endless – glasses, mugs, tools, bowls, different size measuring cups for consistently different sizes, jewellery boxes for small squares, use your imagination!
Project inspired by Gerard Smith’s book “Artful Spaces”
